Herbal tea Q&A

How do I prepare my herbal tea so that it tastes best and its effects can unfold best?

For 1 cup: Infuse 1-2 teaspoons with 100°C hot water, let steep for 7-10 minutes, and enjoy 1-2 cups daily.

The longer the herbs steep, the more intense the tea will be.

Can I sweeten my herbal tea?

Oh yes, you can definitely sweeten it!

We recommend natural sweeteners such as honey or agave syrup – they bring out the delicate flavors wonderfully, without a sugar crash.

Can I also drink the teas cold or as iced tea?

Absolutely - you can also enjoy your tea cold or as iced tea!

While a warm cup of herbal tea is especially cozy and soothing (especially during your period), it's just as nourishing when prepared cold.

For the cold version, simply brew the tea as usual, let it cool, and then pour it over ice. This way, you get all the beneficial properties of the herbs – just in a refreshing, summery way.

What kind of water should I use for my herbal tea?

For the best cup of tea, we recommend using filtered water. Tap water can sometimes contain minerals or substances that affect the taste – and we want your tea to taste as wonderful as possible!

Do I feel the effects immediately or does it take some time?

Herbs work gently and naturally in harmony with your body. While some women notice small changes early on – such as more calmness, less bloating, or a stronger sense of their own cycle – it is completely normal if it takes a little longer.

Your body needs time to adapt and respond. It takes about 90 days for an egg cell to mature – which is why it can take up to three full cycles for you to notice the deeper, long-term effects, such as a more balanced hormonal system, fewer PMS symptoms, or more stable energy throughout the month.

Think of it as a form of inner nourishment. Like any healthy habit, the effects unfold over time.

In combination with mindful lifestyle habits – such as a balanced diet, stress management, and sufficient rest – our herbal teas become valuable companions in your self-care routine.

How should I store my tea to keep it fresh?

To keep your tea fresh and preserve its full aroma, store it in a cool, dark, and dry place – away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture.

Our resealable, eco-friendly pouches optimally protect the herbs, so you should seal the packaging tightly after each use. If you want to be extra cautious, you can also transfer the tea into an airtight container to maintain freshness even longer.

What if my cycle isn't 28 days long or is irregular?

If your cycle isn't exactly 28 days long or is rather irregular, that's perfectly fine. Every body is unique, and your rhythm doesn't have to (and doesn't need to!) correspond to the "textbook."

Our herbal teas are loose leaf blends, so you can adapt them flexibly to your personal cycle. Instead of following a fixed daily schedule, simply listen to your body and orient yourself to the phase you are currently in – whether menstruation, follicular phase, ovulation, or luteal phase – and enjoy the tea that supports you in your current phase.

Can I drink your herbal teas if I'm on the pill or using other hormonal contraceptives?

Basically, yes – consuming herbal teas in moderate amounts (1–2 cups daily) is considered safe even with hormonal contraception. Most of the herbs we use are gentle and, when enjoyed occasionally as part of a balanced lifestyle, generally do not affect the effectiveness of contraceptives.

However, our tea Phase 2: Follicular Phase contains the herbs Angelica root and Licorice root, which are known for their hormone-balancing properties. These herbs can influence hormone levels and could potentially interact with hormonal contraceptives or affect their effectiveness if consumed regularly or in higher quantities.

Even though the amounts in a tea infusion are comparatively small, we recommend consulting your healthcare professional if you use hormonal contraception and consume the tea daily or long-term.

What actually happens in your body when you take the pill?

If you take the pill, the main thing that happens in your body is that ovulation is suppressed (in most cases). And without ovulation, you won't have a "real" period – even if you continue to bleed monthly.

The bleeding that occurs while taking the pill is called withdrawal bleeding. Although it can feel like a period, it serves no true biological function. It is merely your body's reaction to the hormone break.

Since hormonal contraception is a form of medication, side effects that feel similar to PMS can occur – for example, mood swings, bloating, or fatigue. However, these are not the same as true PMS, which arises within a natural menstrual cycle. Rather, they are side effects of the medication – even if they can feel very similar.

Can I drink your teas if I am pregnant?

We do not recommend our herbal teas for pregnant women. Please always speak to your doctor or midwife before consuming herbs.

But we have good news! We are already working on special pregnancy-safe teas that will gently support you during this special time – coming soon!

Always speak to your doctor or midwife before taking herbs, as some herbs can interact with other medications or supplements.
